I believe in an individual’s ability to create change and I support clients with restoring balance to their lives and relationships. I strive to provide a caring and supportive environment, which is conducive to positive change and growth. My therapeutic style focuses on building a relationship that cultivates growth, exploration, and further understanding of the path of life. My personal approach to working with clients involves concepts from Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, all within a Cognitive Behavioral framework. I truly believe that combining the key aspects of a variety of treatment modalities will best meet the needs of the client. I am familiar with helping clients who are dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, low self-worth, and developing positive coping skills. I am passionate about working with First Responders, Law Enforcement, and anyone who works in a high stress job environment. Compassion Fatigue can manifest itself in many ways, including physical, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual changes and it can also affect people who work in a variety of job roles. As someone who has spent several years working in the high stress environment of the Emergency Department, I am able to understand the challenges and provide the necessary therapeutic services to people who have experienced secondary trauma due to their profession. Trauma is all around us and we have the tools to work through it so that it does not have to run our lives anymore.
