I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of Indiana, I hold a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Huntington University, and I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and borderline personality disorder. I am a certified DBT therapist, and I use a combination of CBT, DBT, and person-centered. My clients typically struggle with depression, anxiety, and borderline personality disorder as a result of past trauma, i.e. C-PTSD. Some of my clients also experience these symptoms as a result of changes in their lives and grief. In the beginning the main focus will be on building rapport, establishing our relationship, assessing areas of change, and building a toolbox of coping skills. Our first session will be an intake where we discuss what brought you to therapy and the areas you would like to see changes. Next, depending on your goals, we will work on distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and identifying/challenging anxious and intrusive thoughts, and more! As a therapist, my goal is to help you develop and learn the necessary tools to lead the life you envision. To do this, I focus on building rapport and establishing the therapeutic relationship; as this is a proven catalyst for change. My counseling style is built on mutual respect, trust, and empowerment. You can expect an environment where you will be respected, cared for, supported, and accepted for exactly who you are and where you are at in life.
