Heidi Jameson is the founder of The Mangroves Seeds of Change, LLC. She received both her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and her BS in Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, where she was a member of the Psi Chi Honor Society. She is an Adoption Competency certified Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She recently completed training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and anticipates completing national certification requirements by the Fall of 2024. Her professional experience includes working with sexual abuse and domestic violence victims; domestic violence perpetrators; children, teens, and their families; and providing intensive outpatient services. She previously enjoyed working with middle school students, young adults on the Autism Spectrum, college students with disabilities, athletes, and international students. On a personal note, she is the daughter of, wife of, and stepmother of military veterans; a history buff; animal lover; crocheter; and former member of American Mensa. She practices a nondenominational form of Christianity, but is open to all clients, regardless of their faith background or atheism. Heidi strongly believes in the premise that everyone is doing the best they can and deserves the best possible service, without judgment. While she takes an integrative approach, tailoring her counseling to the needs of each individual client, she draws heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Choice Theory/Reality Therapy, both of which empower clients from many cultures to direct their own lives.
