If you have made it this far you are probably wondering more about me and if we could be a good match. I am a first generation Latina who is also a mother, daughter, wife and Social Worker. My personal life experiences have allowed me to view life through a multicultural lens and understand that our values, upbringing and perspective shape who we are. As a minority I understood early on that representation matters and for me that meant providing therapy to my Latino community. I have dedicated the past 10 years as a public servant in the Child Welfare System. I have worked with children in families on their worst days and walk along them as they navigate the Dependency system. I also have experience working in non-public schools, facilitating group therapy, working with domestic violence survivors and those struggling with life transitions. My personal and professional experiences have taught me that trauma, grief, PTSD, anxiety can hinder our ability to function and have a funny way of showing up when we least expect it. I provide a safe space for you to unpack these emotions and together develop coping strategies while utilizing different modalities that best fit you and your needs. I like to explain therapy as a roller coaster ride. As your therapist I am jumping in the front seat and holding on tight as we experience really fast lows and breathtaking highs. Therapy is not a magical wand that can make things instantly better but today you are making the line to jump on the roller coaster and for that I commend you.
