Introduction

Hi, welcome to my practice! I'm Dr. Holly Siegrist, and I am a psychologist licensed in California with 15 years of experience. I take a strength-based approach, and I work with clients on spirituality and meaning making, creativity, dream analysis, relationship issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, stress related to disability and other discrimination, grief, chronic illness, losses, and life change. My interests are in social justice, coping with discrimination, health and wellness, and resilience. In addition, I offer academic advising, career counseling, and financial planning support. My therapy style is warm and welcoming. I believe in treating everyone with respect and compassion, and providing a safe space to listen to clients express their thoughts and feelings. I have a Ph.D. in Psychology with Specialization in Existential, Humanistic, and Transpersonal Psychology from Saybrook University. I also hold a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, an M.S. in Rehabilitation Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.A. in Disability, Health and Illness from the University of Leeds, and bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Comparative History of Ideas from the University of Washington, Seattle. I specialize in dream analysis and lucid dreaming therapy. What drew me to therapy was my interest in social justice work while I was attending the University of Washington for my undergraduate education, and did peer counseling with students. I have always been interested in helping people, I enjoy hearing people’s stories, and I also find that in the therapeutic process I learn more about myself. Through my therapy journey I have gained much experience in working with diverse people. In addition, during my time at Saybrook University, I received training in spiritual approaches in therapy, and dream analysis and lucid dreaming therapy. I'm glad you are moving towards living a more fulfilling and happier life, and I am here to support you so you can empower yourself on your journey of transformation. The first session will involve us getting to know each other. I will ask you questions about what brings you to therapy and your goals, and you can also ask me questions. Successful therapy with my clients involves me working with them to find solutions. Successful outcomes also involve clients being consistent in working towards their goals, having a positive attitude, striving to be the best people they can be, and experiencing increased well-being. My approach is strength-based and combines existential-humanistic, transpersonal therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy approaches. I specialize in dream analysis and lucid dreaming therapy. Therapy activities involve you journaling about your thoughts and feelings between sessions, and us discussing what you wrote and the meanings you make out of it. Additionally, I will send you articles on topics of interest that we discuss. My clients are motivated and strive for personal growth. I work with clients to get in touch with their inner strengths and wisdom when facing challenges. I facilitate their thoughts and ideas emerging, and help them manifest goals.
