What is a breakthrough? It’s any major progress in life. It’s overcoming an obstacle and obtaining an achievement. It’s an act of breaking through resistance. What is your breakthrough? Perhaps it’s deciding that today, you want to make improvements in your life. Many people struggling with mental illness, navigating life changes and managing life stressors don’t seek help to improve their quality of life. Why not? We wonder what others will think about us. We fear being treated differently. We are wary of our own judgements, attitudes, and internalized shame associated with asking for help. Sometimes we tell ourselves that we just don’t have the time. Hello, and thank you for taking the first step in your journey toward becoming a better you. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 20 years of experience providing therapy services for children, adolescents, adults and families in a wide variety of settings. I am experienced in and comfortable with employing different treatment approaches and strategies to treat a wide variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, anger management, and issues related to difficulty managing stress, trauma, abuse, separation, and grief/loss. We are living in unprecedented times and together we can also address the challenges we face in returning to normalcy with the stressors caused by the global pandemic. Whether you are new to therapy, or returning after past therapy experiences, in your first visit we will work together to develop personalized goals and approaches to help you move towards lasting change. Remember, it’s alright if you don’t quite know what you are looking for, as sometimes the road to healing, growth and empowerment can take many paths. Sessions are offered in-person and/or through a combination of virtual and in-person sessions. My office is located in a small office building in residential neighborhood with a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. I am available for morning, afternoon and evening appointments Monday through Thursday.
