Tele-health only. Iowa residents only. Insurance: Blue Cross/ Wellmark. Private pay: $250 per session. Education: BS: Science of Creative Intelligence, Maharishi European Research University, Seelisberg, Switzerland. MA: Counseling and Human Development, University of Iowa. PhD: Counseling Psychology (American Psychological Association program), Lehigh University. Internship: VA hospital (American Psychological Association program), Coatesville, PA. Fellow: American Institute of Stress. Diplomate: American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress with War Trauma Certificate. Member: Iowa Psychological Association. Credentialed: The National Register of Health Service Psychologists. My publications, media appearances and professional presentations include Connecticut State University, Princeton University, Pennsylvania Psychological Association and Harvard University School of Public Health. My most recent academic presentation was at Lomonsov State University’s Federal Scientific Center for Psychology Research, Russian Ministry of Science. The topic was peak performance using the fourth state of consciousness: research and treatment implications for anxiety, depression, conflict and PTSD. I’ve done similar presentations for medical and mental health professionals in Turkey, Ethiopia, Armenia and Canada. I am currently consulting for peace organizations in Israel and Ukraine. As a psychologist and business consultant I’ve worked with numerous organizations including the US government and Fortune 500 companies. I’ve been on the inside when it comes to how leadership style, conflict resolution, organization change and occupational stress affect the individual at work and at home. I appreciate how balancing work and family can impact relationships, wellbeing and physical health. My doctoral research was on occupational stress in relation to different Ayurvedic mind-body types. My years as an adjunct professor teaching adult development, assessment, communication, occupational stress and conflict resolution have greatly informed my therapeutic perspective. I’m a certified Transcendental Meditation teacher and a certified Steven Covey’s Speed of Trust facilitator. I’ve seen approximately 9,000 veterans for mental health evaluations, therapy and PTSD treatment. For fifteen years I was a psychologist and teaching faculty at the Devereux Foundation’s children’s residential treatment center. I’ve conducted thousands of hours of individual therapy, family therapy, couples therapy, group therapy, psycho educational programs and supervised numerous doctoral interns. I provide individual, couples and family therapy. I have an eclectic approach using strength-based humanistic therapies. I also use ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT, Ayurveda and several other empowering therapeutic modalities. I’m a generalist addressing strained relationships (workplace and personal), stress, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, occupational issues, life enrichment, conflict resolution……..or just getting you through a rough patch in the road. All sessions are conducted in a respectful, supportive and affirming manner. I’m looking forward to meeting you. Ian Glickman, Ph.D. Licensed Psychologist
