The amazing, and sometimes terrifying aspect of our existence in this world is that our experience living is unique to us. Having worked in a variety of treatment settings, I have found forming a strong relationship with my clients is the most important part of treatment, whether it is for the short term or the long term. My grounding philosophy is to meet people where they are at and to tailor my knowledge and experience to help them get to where they want to be. My special interest is working with active duty service members and veterans. I also enjoy working with couples, adolescents, and adults from all walks of life. I specialize in treating trauma, ranging from difficult childhood experiences to witnessing, being affected by, or inflicting violence. I am formally trained in DBT and EMDR and utilize other modalities in the spirit of having the most effective approach to the issue at hand in order to treat the whole person beyond the clinical diagnosis. I understand sometimes our own history and current challenges can make it difficult to connect with the ones we love. Beyond the valuable people in our lives, the most important relationship we can have is the one with ourselves. I hope that I can provide the space to nurture that relationship and help to challenge barriers in the way of self actualization.
