Dr. Lebar is a licensed psychologist and long-time Austinite. His approach to therapy includes the use of evidenced-based approaches to treatment and building compassionate, therapeutic relationships. He takes a collaborative, strengths-based approach, fostering empowerment in a nonjudgmental space that is specifically attentive to the spectrum of issues related to identity and culture. Dr. Lebar specialize in working with adults and young adults experiencing anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), insomnia, and depression. Also, he has significant experience working with individuals in high stress professional careers and highly technical fields. Dr. Lebar received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology at the University of Texas at Austin in 2005 and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law with Honors in 2008. After working in mediations and dispute resolution for several years, he returned to graduate work at the University of Houston, where he earned a Master of Arts in Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Lebar's clinical experience includes working with clients across the lifespan in community, student counseling, integrated health clinic, and private practice settings. He completed his APA-accredited doctoral internship at Southern Illinois University’s student counseling center. During that time, he worked with young adults experiencing anxiety and depression, often with compounding issues such as trauma, ADHD, chronic illness, and gender dysphoria. He completed his graduate practicum at the McLean OCD Institute, Houston (formerly Houston OCD Program) and Texas Children’s the Center for Children and Women. His interests include photography, podcasts, cooking international foods, and playing board games with his partner and friends.
