Jake Vickrey grew up in Southern California and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 2007, where he served as an Avionics Technician for Special Forces aircraft. After completing his service requirements in the Air Force, he got a master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Utah. Jake worked primarily for the Utah National Guard providing counseling for Service Members and their families for 7 years. Today, Jake is the Clinical Director at Live Well Counseling Services. He loves to bring the perspective of someone who didn’t grow up in Utah to help people work through issues, and used evidence-based modalities like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and mind-body bridging. He and his wife are also parents of five children, so he understands all the challenges and fun that come with balancing work and family life.
