Hi, my name is Jaha (Ja-ha). My belief is that mental health and wellness is an essential component of a life that feels healthy and whole. No matter the reason for seeking therapy, it takes great strength to seek healing, growth, and positive transformation. I feel that the working relationship between the client and therapist plays a significant role in facilitating discovery, self-acceptance, progress, and change. I show up with authenticity, transparency, warmth, curiosity, compassion, empathy, positive regard, acceptance, humor, flexibility, and cultural awareness/ responsiveness. I aim to create a safe space for my clients to feel seen, understood, respected, supported, protected, partnered with, and empowered across the intersections of their identities. Maintaining a space that acknowledges and incorporates each client’s unique cultural needs is a core value of mine. My therapeutic style is person-centered, however, I utilize elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Solution- Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness techniques, and trauma- informed care. Over the past 7 years, I have been successful in supporting clients facing challenges such as, depression, anxiety, life transition, difficulties with work, family conflict, relationship concerns, stress, trauma, loss and grief, creativity, cultural issues, and racial trauma. I work with clients from all paths of life, including artists/ creatives, adolescents, LGBTQIA+ individuals. I am committed to being a part of the collective effort to make needed mental health services more accessible for marginalized communities; therefore, I especially welcome clients who are Black, Indigenous, or who are of color.
