Jahvon (juh-von) is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with over 2700+ hours of clinical experience. In 2018, Jahvon graduated from Cal State University, East Bay with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and in 2020, she graduated from San Diego State University with a Masters of Science in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. Jahvon has experience forming meaningful and professional connections with all age ranges from conducting ABA therapy with age groups 4-10 years old and psychotherapy with ages 13-65+. These populations include but are not limited to folks a part of the LGBTQ community, POC, and dual diagnosis with a focus in substance abuse and acute mental health diagnoses (ie: Psychotic Disorders, Personality Disorders, Developmental Disorders, PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, etc.). She also has experience working with couples, individuals, and groups. Jahvon proudly uses evidence-based practices and interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Psychoeducation among other useful tools. She considers herself to be a collaborative therapist and client-centered approach, working directly with clients to assist in the co-creation of their desired life and expectations of self. Jahvon’s therapeutic goal is to ultimately strengthen and empower her clients to live their desired lives and provide therapeutic insight and techniques to both educate and increase the clients' self-trust in overcoming life’s difficulties and obstacles. Of course, this also holds true for learning when to “stop and smell the flowers” and other cliches.
