Introduction

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) specializing in counseling individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma-related experience(s), addiction, life transitions, adjustments, grief, and loss. In addition, I have an interest in working with parents, siblings, or families with special needs\medical needs children. I received my Master of Social Work from Walla Walla University and my undergrad education at Colorado State University. I have spent the last eight years supporting individuals in community-based organizations aiding those facing a mix of circumstances, challenges, and experiences. Working in an agency setting has enhanced my knowledge of local community resources that work with a wide range of individuals, families, and systems. In addition to individual and agency practice, I have had the pleasure of facilitating multiple men’s fly-fishing retreats for men with cancer over the last three years. This privilege has provided me with tremendous respect for life. It has also supplied me with the tools to support those facing morality or a difficult medical diagnosis. My passion for helping others is deeply influenced by working with young adults aging out of foster care and youth experiencing housing instability. In addition, I've worked with adults and families. I welcome the opportunity to work with individuals in all phases of life. I’m interested in building upon an individual’s strengths, providing choice and freedom, and utilizing their self-determination. Being part of one’s journey in life is a huge honor and privilege; I value the opportunity to share space with an individual and believe everyone can heal, grow, and change. My counseling practice is rooted in finding meaning and purpose in one’s life. My comprehensive approach uses a variety of behavioral health practices (e.g., Existential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy). I re-energize my soul by spending time on the water with family and friends, enjoying a challenging adventure, and taking time to reflect by journaling. Doing therapy is a challenging undertaking with peaks and valleys. Making sure you have the right fit with a counselor is essential. Call me today for a free consultation and to inquire more about my approach to life.
