I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over nine years of experience working with couples, individuals, and families. I primarily work from systemic perspectives and theories, and incorporate solution-focused work into my therapy practice. After a thorough exploration of the presenting issues, I aim to set clear goals for therapy in the initial sessions. I find it is important to start co-developing new attempts for solutions to get change started. I have had specific training and years of experience in working with various mood disorders (depression, anxiety, etc.), trauma-related issues, and problems with self-confidence or phase of life issues. I work with individuals to discuss problems in relationships, but I keep a clear boundary between what is possible and ethical for individual or couples therapy. I commonly work with couples to improve communication, trust, romantic connection, co-parenting, sex, and more. I am fully trained in the couple’s communication techniques of The Gottman Method, which are evidenced-based practices in improving the effectiveness and emotionality in communication. I also work with couples in many other methods, including explorations into familial histories or emotion-focused couples therapy techniques.
