I use a collaborative, client-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed approach to help adult clients achieve goals related to living a healthy, satisfying life. I have a particular interest in working with trauma, including single incidents, recurring events, relational dynamics, and more subtle forms of trauma, any of which can overwhelm our nervous system and impact our ability to experience well-being. I also work with a variety of other concerns including anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Our work together begins with taking time to understand the hopes and concerns bringing you to counseling. Then, together we identify a treatment approach that is tailored to your unique situation, goals, and needs. I am trained in several trauma-specific treatment approaches including two different methods of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Clinical EFT tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques); Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My work involves not just emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, but also the body and nervous system; I frequently use various mind-body approaches with my clients. As appropriate, I may also incorporate elements of other treatment approaches such as person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational interviewing. I have a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Montana, and I am licensed as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC #1603) in the State of Montana.
