I am passionate about helping people with the anxiety, depression, women’s health issues, and other issues that arise during life’s major changes, such as in relationships, in health, and in daily living function. My role as a therapist is to listen, but more importantly, help you develop the skills and resources you need to manage the challenges in your life, find your purpose and take action. While focusing on the therapeutic connection, I use a variety of approaches depending on what is the best fit for you. Some of the approaches I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). At your request, I will coordinate your care with your Primary Care Physician and your other care providers. Special interest areas for me are helping those with women’s health issues, such as mood issues during or after pregnancy and during or after menopause. I also have a strong interest in helping clients who have difficult health issues, chronic pain, adjustment issues to changes in function, and coping with long term recovery. I have over 28 years of experience as a licensed psychologist, working in many different settings including primary care behavioral health, physical rehab, and active duty military. Most recently, I spent the last 11 years working at the local hospital and am now transitioning to private practice. Getting to the point where you think “I need therapy” is a difficult process. The next step is finding a therapist who is the right fit for you. Finding someone with the right skills, the right experience, and most of all, the right connection.
