Introduction

Welcome and congratulations on taking the first step in your healing journey! I'm Janette and my passion is helping people work through life challenges while becoming the best version of themselves. Many individuals that come to me feel like they are barely holding it together or are struggling to get through the day. Burn out, anxiety, depression, indecision or uncomfortable memories can often leave one looking to move forward but not knowing how. After working together with client, many begin to feel more like themselves and hopeful. I celebrate diversity and inclusion, and enjoy creating a relaxed, yet challenging atmosphere for individuals to do deep work. My goal is for clients to feel empowered, motivated and present after our sessions. Additionally, contributing to a client's toolbox is another one of my treatment priorities. Helping clients identify what is important and meaningful to them is a significant focus of mine. Supporting them in living a more purposeful life often brings new perspective and direction. I deeply value the therapeutic relationship and provide a safe, non judgmental space for clients to be their whole selves. I hope to work together and assist you in finding your peace. My work centers around individual treatment with adolescents and adults through an integrative approach. I utilize evidence based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), trauma focused CBT (TF-CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and prolonged exposure therapy (PE), as well as solution based focused therapy, play therapy, art therapy and person centered therapy to structure my sessions and therapeutic style. Throughout my career, I have worked with children, teens, young adults and adults in various settings including community and school based mental health as well as private practice. Working closely with teachers, school staff, community members, and families has influenced my treatment and understanding of the roles that collaboration and community play in each of our lives. I also have experience working with first generation students and individuals, military service members and families, as well as those in the LGBTQ+ community.
