I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I work from a strengths-based and collaborative perspective that focuses on helping people identify and develop the skills and tools they already have within. I have an eclectic therapeutic approach that draws from psychodynamic, mindfulness stress reduction, cognitive behavioral and existential theories. I provide a safe, grounded, and compassionate space for processing, change, and healing. My pronouns are she/her/hers. I have worked as a counselor in different settings including _ schools, oncology and perinatology where I worked with women with high risk pregnancies. I have also been a counselor for individuals with sickle cell disease. From these settings, I have developed skills to support individuals through life transitions including end of life issues, chronic illness, or other medical changes. I have a passion for creating spaces where individuals can feel heard, validated, and understood in the ways that support healing and wellness. I have a special interest in working with individuals with intersecting identities, People of Color, immigrant populations, pregnant or postpartum women of color, biracial adults (who have experienced anti-blackness or other forms of oppression), adults who have chronic illness or terminal illness, and professionals experiencing symptoms of burnout, secondary traumatic stress, and compassion fatigue. My practice and the support I offer clients is informed by my training and my personal experiences as a single mother with a mixed ethnic background who was raised in the West Indies. I am committed to providing access to mental health support and overall wellness for people and populations who have been overlooked by the field. I would be honored to partner with you on your new journey into wellness.
