His journey in helping others began during his undergraduate studies in Sociology at the University of Utah. Through his volunteer work with a rape crisis team and a crisis line in Utah County, Jarom discovered his true calling for mental health support. This pivotal experience led him to pursue advanced studies at the University of Phoenix, where he earned his degree in Mental Health Counseling and became a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor.
