Hello! I'm Jayeon Kim. I expertise in depression, perfectionism, multicultural and interpersonal issues, and complex developmental trauma (CPTSD). CPTSD means that you have experienced prolonged difficulties especially in your childhood or adolescence, for example emotionally neglectful parents or a cultural norm that didn’t accept or foster who you really were. I integrate psychodynamics (depth work), gestalt (here and now), mindfulness, somatic experiencing (mind body connection), internal family system (parts work), existential, and client-centered theories of healing. Aside from a therapist, I’m Head of UX Leadership Academy at Google, an author of children’s books, and a certified trainer for yoga (RYT-500) and Search Inside Yourself—an emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and leadership program. I restore my energy from painting, reading, journaling, hosting dinners, swimming, playing instruments, and tending plants and flowers. I received my MA in counseling psychology at California Institute of Integral Studies, and previously studied art and design at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (BFA), and clothing and textiles at Seoul National University (BS). You can find more about me on http://www.jayeonkim.com. I look forward to connecting with you!
