Life can be challenging and sometimes we are told to be strong despite these hard times. Some are taught a definition of being strong is to act like you’re okay, even when you really want to go hide. Or some are taught to pretend you have it all in order, although you really feel lost, stuck, or confused on what is your next step. Many are taught to keep pushing and move past things, not knowing moving past leads to suppression that will surface later on in life rather we want it to or not. Having an unhealthy definition of being strong can lead to many unhealthy thoughts, behaviors and situations that add to life’s challenges. I am a firm believer that although many can do things on their own, it helps to have someone that is solely focused on them to provide support and meet them where they are at while keeping in mind the goals stated. Being successful means being well rounded mentally, physically, emotionally and for some spiritually. Everyone needs help at some point in life, why not receive help from a professional with years of experience but also with a heart that understands life is not easy and habits are hard to break. I pride myself on effective listening because I want my clients to know I understand but also will not judge. I encourage my clients to think outside of their norm due to one of the definitions of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. Having therapeutic support and your own safe space to unpack your thoughts, fears and concerns can help you to feel encouraged again and motivated to achieve your goals in life. I want to help you become the best version of you while being a support and encouraging you to do the healthy work. I specialize in working with trauma, depression, anxiety, stress management, relationship issues, family conflict, teens/adolescents, and children from age 10 and up. I use various therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, solution focus therapy and a family systems approach when needed. I am available to offer individual, family and couple’s therapy. I also am a supervisor for LMSW.
