Introduction

As a Licensed Clinical Marriage & Family Therapist, it is very important to me provide a safe and compassionate environment that is supportive and focused on your mental health goals and issues. It is my hope to serve a wide-range of culturally diverse individuals, couples and families, especially those most affected by substance use and current or past trauma. With extensive experience in private practice in both Kansas and the Bay Area, my focus and expertise are in the following areas; trauma & complex trauma, substance misuse and dependence, depression, anxiety, co-occurring disorders, mood disorders, executive functioning issues, relationship issues including non-traditional couple, blended family & polyamory issues, and LGBTQIA issues including gender identity and sexual orientation. It is very important that I meet you where you are, developing a treatment program that works for you, using standards-based approaches and strategies that include: harm reduction, trauma-informed therapy, Psychosynthesis and mindfulness-based therapy, strengths-based therapy, culturally-responsive therapy, CBT, Accelerated Resolution Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. In the past, I've had significant experience as a Clinical Executive in Mental Health programs including licensed for-profit residential substance treatment use centers, licensed non-profit substance use residential treatment programs and community-based treatment centers in both Kansas and the Bay Area. I've also held Executive Clinical positions in a variety of mental health and community-based programs throughout the Bay Area that have included working with a wide range of culturally diverse individuals, couples and families. As a past Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco, I taught Addiction Counseling Studies in the MA/MFT Psychology Program.
