I specialize working with college students as well as people with disabilities. The specific topics I most commonly help my clients navigate are: Depression Anxiety Living with a disability Life transitions and adjustments Work/life balance Relationship issues College student life Test anxiety Relationship and intimacy issues Overthinking/racing mind/rumination I utilize various science-backed therapeutic treatments including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness/meditation, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Disability-Affirmative Therapy. Once I learn about a new client’s current issues and their goals for treatment, I tailor the therapeutic approach to them. This usually results in my clients learning a mixed-blend of specific strategies from different treatment approaches. To put it simply, my job is to help my clients learn the strategies that work best for them because there is no, “one size fits all,” model of therapy. Common themes for my counseling include identification and connection with core values, self-advocacy, personal empowerment, hope for the future, and acceptance of negative thoughts and feelings.
