Though emotional pain and struggle are a normal part of life, it's easy to get stuck. At some point we find ourselves further and further from what we find most valuable and meaningful in life. Whether you struggle with depression, grief, anger, stress, anxiety, or difficulty adjusting to life circumstances, together we will practice skills to be more present in life, more open and better equipped to handle our pain, and more able to move towards what matters. I help clients learn how to deal differently with painful thoughts, feelings, and situations using techniques and and methods based in Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Compassion Based Therapy. These approaches are evidence based, help reduce distress, and will increase your ability to handle emotional pain and get unstuck. Just as important as my theoretical approach, our positive working relationship is key to success in therapy. I strive to create space for compassion, honesty, vulnerability, humor, and connection in our work together.
