I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Virginia and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I've been providing services in private practice since 2013 and really enjoy working with military families, teens, and those in the LGBTQ community. My approach utilizes mostly Narrative therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-focused therapy, and most of the treatment plans I collaborate with include psychosocial education and some lifestyle changes. Neurofeedback is offered as a modality that helps with mental health symptoms as well as TBI, concussion, and dementia. Neurofeedback is a type of brain and nervous system training that can provide stabilization and improvement for individuals. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, and ADHD. My educational background from Capella University includes a Master's degree in Marriage and Family therapy as well as a Master's degree in Psychology. Having completed an active duty tour in the Air Force, and then serving as an Air Force spouse for twenty-one years, I have a unique understanding of military culture. As a parent, I understand how difficult it is to manage professional time versus personal time. Please email me or feel free to text as I often will not have time to pick up the phone due to being in session with clients. Please note I offer individual and family sessions, I do not offer couples sessions.
