ACCEPTING ONLY BARIATRIC SURGERY ASSESSMENTS AT THIS TIME. I specialize in the use of psychology to promote health, prevent illness, and improve overall health. I have a particular interest in providing support and healing for frontline healthcare staff and therapists. I provide mindfulness-based therapy, bariatric surgery assessments, treatment for emotional eating, and lifestyle change for weight loss. I am also available to support individuals and families who are coping with the mental, emotional and physical changes associated with memory issues and aging. My individual, couples, family, and group therapies integrate mindfulness, self-acceptance and compassion, lifestyle change and cognitive-behavioral philosophies. I have over 25+ years of experience teaching and providing care to people across their lifespans. I have worked as a therapist and consultant in continuing care retirement communities, long-term care nursing facilities, inpatient hospitals, outpatient medical clinics, private practice, and college counseling centers. I led the Whole Health Integrative Health Program at the Hampton VA Medical Center until 2021 and I continue to work as a health psychologist and researcher analyst with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
