I am a compassionate and mindful Psychotherapist. I received my Masters of Social Work from the University of Southern California, and my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Campbell University. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, fears, relationship issues, addiction, emotional abuse, interpersonal effectiveness, and trauma. I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers and I am involved with my local North Carolina chapter. My approach is to make therapy comfortable. It takes courage and vulnerability to begin therapy or to start again if perhaps you are returning to therapy. A session with me begins with discussing your current and past symptoms. We will explore where you are today versus where you would like to be. During our sessions, we will work together to achieve the results that you need to live a balanced and healthy lifestyle. My clinical expertise is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Self-empowerment, Emotional Intelligence, Emotion Regulation and Solution Focused Therapy. Areas of specialization include: anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, grief and loss, relationship issues, self-esteem and empowerment, interpersonal communication, life transitions and adjustment including crisis management, stress management, emotion regulation, family of origin concerns, codependency, identity crisis, emotional abuse, ADHD, Al-Anon and Adult Children of Alcoholics.
