Welcome - I am so happy you are here! I am providing service via telehealth for patients located in DC and MD and also in-person at my DC office. You deserve to feel positive about who you are, have the type of relationships that you desire, and embrace the direction your life is going. In my 20+ years as a clinical social worker I’ve seen the power of the therapeutic relationship to transform lives and futures. My style is collaborative, warm, direct, and curious. I concentrate on the following groups: -- Adults of diverse backgrounds who find themselves confronted with stress, coping with anxiety or depression, grief and loss, or life transitions, and wanting to explore the roots of these issues and new approaches -- Teens 14+ and young adults who want to explore and affirm their identity and values. , and build skills key to developing fulfilling relationships and a positive outlook on school, work and future. -- Women contemplating single motherhood or confronting unexpected fertility issues or adjusting to motherhood and experiencing perinatal mood issues. Our sessions and conversations will flow naturally, and you, as the expert on yourself, will shape their direction. AND I will offer information and suggestions along the way! I rely on a number of approaches to support clients including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness can help you connect your thought patterns, behaviors and emotions. These approaches focus on developing awareness and skills. Positive Psychology and Brief Solution Focused Treatment to identify characteristics you have that work for you so that you can maximize your strengths instead of solely focusing on improving weaknesses. Motivational Interviewing supports you moving forward to make desired changes. If you are struggling, wondering what the next step is, please don't wait!
