Jennisel Marte is a licensed social worker with five years of clinical and supervisory experience after receiving her Masters in Social Work from Simmons University in Boston Massachusetts . Initially her work was centered around Forensic Social Work providing support to sexually abused children in foster care. She also employed her clinical skills to support unaccompanied immigrant minors and facilitated family therapy for families in Preventative services. In recent years she has focused her clinical practice with a racial trauma lens and oriented in the advocacy for racial and economic equity. Her most recent position was focused on facilitating clinical skills training to MSW students at her alma mater Simmons University and for the Administration of Children Services (ACS). Jennisel’s experience in clinical social work and psychotherapy has been primarily focused on childhood trauma, racial trauma, loss and substance use. Jennisel uses evidence based practice to engage clients by using Motivational Interview, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma Focus CBT. Jennisel’s clinical experience with children and families has highlighted her passion for racial and economic equity. To further her clinical skills and knowledge Jennisel is in pursue of a Doctorate in Social Work from Simmons University. Jennisel hopes that the skills obtain in the coursework of the doctorate degree will enhance her understanding of the community she serves and wishes to have a positive impact on.
