Jenny, an owner at Balanced LLC, has been a clinical social worker in the mental health field since 1995. She completed her MSW work at St. Louis University and specialized in mental health for the deaf and hard-of-hearing (via ASL). Since then, Jennifer has gained expertise in early childhood intervention, autism, parenting skills, advocacy, foster care, grief and loss, personality disorders, trauma, marital issues, depression and anxiety disorders. She especially enjoys marital work but she has experience in working with individuals and families of all ages. Jenny has been in private practice for 12 years, but has been in practice for 25 years. She has provided crisis services, addiction and recovery services, grief and loss support, and trauma processing in both individual and family therapy settings. She has a very "roots" based approach and uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and EMDR as primary, evidence-based treatment modalities. She has developed an interest in the use of essential oils as a supplement to treatment. She values on-going learning and is currently pursuing Clinical Autism Certification, and is learning Spanish. Jenny sees the best in others, loves humor, is accepting of all people and has a realist approach. Due to her views of people as multifaceted beings, affirming spiritual/faith-based services are also available but not required.
