Jeri Jefferys M.Ed., LCAS, CCS, MAC Hi and welcome to Live Addiction Free. My name is Jeri Jefferys, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, Certified Clinical Supervisor, Master Addiction Counselor, Certified Health Coach, and professional SMART Recovery group facilitator with over 25 years experience in behavioral health treatment and adult education. I'm also a person in long-term sustained recovery with lived experience, who knows first hand the many challenges that addiction creates and that recovery is not a one size fits all, but a personal process. I specialize in addiction treatment for adults with gambling, alcohol or marijuana use disorders. I provide treatment, relapse prevention, and recovery coaching to adults having difficulties with relationships, finances, health, and mental well-being because of their current or past use. Not everyone is ready or wants to quit completely, but want a change. So whether you want to be completely abstinent, find a way to reduce your risks, practice moderation or you are already abstinent but are wondering "now what?", together we can set goals and develop a plan for a healthier and more meaningful life. Sometimes people aren't sure what they want, and that's okay too. We'll figure it out. I help people make real changes in their substance use or gambling behavior so that they can effectively cope with life stressors, reach their own personal goals, and create a healthy and balanced life. I use a variety of trauma informed, evidence based best practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, meditation/mindfulness & mutual support groups. I welcome people who are at all different places with their use or behavior. If you are ready to make a change, let's start with a 15 minute phone consultation (no cost) to see if this is going to be a good fit for you. Before our call I will send you a few documents to fill out so that we can make the most of our time. You can check out the calendar and pick a time that works best for you. After our call, if this is what you are looking for we'll schedule our first session that will take about 90 minutes. During the first session we will complete required intake and assessment documents, begin to get to know each other and start to figure out what you would like to achieve during our time working together. I also facilitate an in-person SMART Recovery group weekly in Raleigh, NC. You are welcome to join. Check out Smartrecovery.org for more information.
