My intention as a therapist is to bring compassion and non-judgment and to help you access internal resources, resilience, and strength. My practice philosophy is the culmination of academic study, professional practice, and my own experiences navigating the mental health and medical systems as a ‘consumer’. These experiences led me to concentrate my therapy practice on integrative and intersectional therapy (more about this here link to Therapy page). This allows me to weave together traditional psychodynamic and trauma-informed treatments with best practices from ancient wisdom traditions (think: yoga, breathwork, meditation, etc). I bring my full humanity into our therapeutic alliance. My understanding of health goes beyond a list of diagnostic criteria. It considers, with curiosity and discernment, the entire person – from childhood to the present day, from ancestral imprints to anticipatory grief. Considering how a person lives, has lived and how their ancestors lived before them, allows us to determine the root causes of dysregulation (e.g. Anxiety, depression, problematic substance use, etc.), forging a path towards greater access to whole health.
