People start to heal the moment they feel heard. I believe that hope and healing can be found, even in places of great pain. Life can become stressful and feel overwhelming at times. Having someone to walk beside you through those times helps ease the burden. As we develop a relationship with each other, I have found that people gain insight into what brought them in to see me. I focus on the whole person and try to understand what is being communicated through the behaviors, not just focusing on the symptoms. I draw on attachment and psychoanalytic theory to help individuals better understand themselves at a deeper level and how their past experiences influence their current life and relationships. I aspire to build a therapeutic relationship in which my patients feel understand and where they can be their authentic selves. I have over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, working in a variety of settings such as inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment facilities, outpatient mental health centers, schools and private practice.
