Introduction

Jessica Nickerson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has been in the mental health field for over 10 years. Finding a counselor/therapist that you can connect with and trust is essential to therapy success. Here is some information about Jessica and her process. Jessica utilizes a variety of therapeutic interventions and techniques. Some of these include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and utilizes this technique when appropriate with much success. She continues to learn more about therapies like Internal Family Systems or Ego State Therapy to understand all the different parts of a person and help clients recognize and understand them too, if applicable. Jessica feels like it is her duty as a counselor to always be on the pursuit of knowledge to help her clients by receiving training in new therapy types, interventions, and EMDR approaches. Jessica does individual counseling. She sees clients starting at 12 through adulthood. She primarily works with adults. Jessica works with clients struggling with a variety of topics to identify and reach their goals. She sees people who struggle with depression, anxiety, anger issues, ADHD, school issues, stress and other emotional disturbances. She sees people who are navigating through interpersonal relationship problems, family conflict and life transitions. Life transitions can include marriage, divorce, infertility, death, moving and faith transitions. Jessica works with many people who have experienced childhood trauma, grief and other traumatic events to resolve those experiences and find joy again. Working with grief/loss and trauma are a passion. Jessica has also worked with first responders. Life is full of ever changing weather patterns. There are times when skies are blue and there are times when dark clouds are right overhead or lurking on the horizon. We all lose sight of the blue skies but always, CLEAR SKIES come after every pouring rain. That is where Jessica comes in. Schedule an appointment today!
