Introduction

My name is Jillian Russell, I completed my MS Degree in Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2018 and became a LCSW in 2022. In 2004 I completed my BS Degree in Recreation with and emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation from Henderson State University. I became a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) in 2006. I have been working in Mental and Behavioral Health since 2004. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and Veterans in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I also have a passion for clients with developmental disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disorders, Apraxia, and Down Syndrome. Currently, I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker, Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialists, and Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. I treat individuals with Acute, Chronic, and Complex PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Anger, Grief and Loss, ADHD, Conduct Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder and many more. *** I have specialized training in Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Infant Mental Health, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Autism, Leisure, Recreation, and Play Therapy. I prefer using a person-centered, strengths-based, holistic approach to assist in improving the overall lives of others where they are in their journey. I have a broad spectrum of evidence-based practices with interventions specific to the client and/or family. My style of therapy is eclectic in ways. I like traditional therapy, but also a more direct approach that is interactive. I like to use humor, social stories, metaphors, music, sports, play items, art, sand, games, and role-playing to engage with clients and families. "We can't always choose the music life plays for us, but we can choose how we dance to it.” Jillian Russell, LCSW, ASDCS, CTRS reachinfo@reachbh.com
