I am a licensed health services provider psychologist who works with adults using an integrated clinical approach. I use various techniques combined in a personalized way, alongside a consistent framework, to address what clients would like to be different in their lives. This grounds treatment in a firm understanding of: clients’ identities, histories, & values; as well as the mind-body-spirit connection. Emphasis is placed on context, meaning-making, & the therapeutic relationship as central to the change process. I specialize in working with members of historically marginalized groups including members of the LGBTQ+ community, people of color, & especially women of color. I also have extensive experience working with students at various levels: college, health professional, & graduate. I view therapy as a collaborative, goal-oriented process in which I support clients to make meaningful changes in their lives. I strive to create a supportive & challenging environment to foster clients’ empowerment & build on existing strengths & resilience. Coping skills development & greater understanding of relationship to self & others is integral. Clients often describe me as: warm, understanding, & empathic; & express appreciation for my use of: humor, directness, & authenticity during our clinical interactions. I have extensive experience providing therapy in multiple settings including: university counseling centers, veterans affairs (VA) medical centers, & community mental health centers. I am licensed in: North Carolina, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, & have authority to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology under PSYPACT in 42 total states! To help you make an informed decision, I offer new clients a FREE 30-minute consultation.
