I provide services to adult individuals and couples. My personal philosophy is rooted in Gestalt therapy, trauma resolution and attachment theories. I believe healing yourself and your life’s traumas is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself, your relationships, and the world. I received my Masters in Counseling from Naropa University (2001). I am trained in Gestalt therapy, Somatic Experiencing (Level 1), EMDR, and Gestalt Equine Psychotherapy. My approach is relationship based and experiential; meaning healing occurs by being in relationship with all aspects of yourself, and being willing to fully experience (feel) whatever is happening. The goal is for you to become aware of what you are doing, how you are doing it, and how you can change yourself, while at the same time, learning to accept, value, and have compassion for yourself. I am currently the Director of the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies and the Co-founder of the Gestalt Equine Institute of the Rockies. In a word, Gestalt is about relationship and how we promote contact and connection in relationship and how we prohibit it. Many of our wounds occurred in relationship with others, usually with those closest to us; therefore, healing also needs to occur in relationship with others. I create an environment that allows for you to honestly explore yourself. Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy- The goal is to enhance the overall well being of individuals through their involvement with horses. It is an experiential way for people to learn about themselves and others by interacting and being in relationship with horses. As a result, people can experience emotional growth and healing. Equine sessions, 1 or 2 hour sessions, are typically offered on Fridays. Equine intensives, 1/2 day or Full day sessions, may also be scheduled on an individual basis.
