Having always been interested in and intrigued by human nature, I had decided to make a career change in my adult years and pursue a career in Social Work. I have been practicing psychotherapy since 2001 as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York and, currently, Virginia. I have experience working in a variety of settings, including a psychiatric hospital, an adult community residence, a substance abuse treatment center and mental health counseling centers. I specialize in treating clients with depression and anxiety as these seem to be most common and often experienced together. I have a great deal of experience helping those with low self-esteem, those struggling to find their voice, those having difficulty defining themselves and those who struggle with setting limits and boundaries with others. One of the most important components of the therapeutic alliance is the ability to listen to the client, be non judgemental and remain objective. I try to create an atmosphere that is down to earth, warm and encourages my clients to feel safe when sharing the vulnerable parts of themselves. It is my honor to hold that alliance with careful hands.
