About Me I honor the inspirational sources motivating each client and couple to seek a helping relationship. I encourage clients to use familiar and new resources to experience their own embodiment of health, hope and healing. Sessions often begin with meditation. Often my clients are building on knowledge and insights gained from their adventure, travel, running, yoga and meditation practices. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? My hope for each client and couple is to experience both validation and relief in an intentionally inclusive and welcoming space. My clients often struggle with that was then, this is now. Current feelings, thoughts and behaviors are often reflective of past adverse experiences. Unhelpful patterns often repeat, resulting in the felt experience of chaos and confusion. What treatment methods and tools do you utilize? I teach mindfulness with DBT, dialectical behavioral therapy and ACT, acceptance and commitment therapy metaphors and strategies. I encourage clients to apply and practice skills both in and out of sessions. I combine traditional narrative therapy with skill building, EMDR, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing and poly vagal awareness to reduce trauma related symptoms. Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths. I am attuned to the impact of trauma and injustice. I hold compassionate space for those who have been marginalized. I am a LBGTQIA+ ally. I strive to be anti-racist. I have extensive training in two theories of couple's counseling, Gottman and EFT, Emotionally Focused Therapy. I integrate specific communication and attachment-based teachings and intervention strategies from each of the theories in partner work.
