Joe’s holistic treatment approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) while incorporating other treatment modalities including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), yoga, and mindfulness practices. Joe works with his clients to identify clear values and goals and overcome the barriers that are holding them back When working with clients with a history of trauma, Joe helps clients understand and control their physical and emotional symptoms. He teaches skills that can help them regulate their emotions and become more grounded. Having had training in the mental benefits of yoga, Joe incorporates mind-body work in his sessions, when appropriate. When he first meets a new client, his first focus is helping them feel safe and comfortable. His sessions are client-led, and he will never force a client to talk about something until they are ready.
