I have been a student of psychology, the mind, and human behavior for over 30 years. My patients and clients have been my primary teachers, sharing with me the wisdom of their lived experiences. Helping them navigate their challenges has enriched my own life and taught me a range of strategies and perspectives that may also help you. My areas of specialization include: health psychology (including chronic pain and living with chronic illness), "helping the helpers" including health care workers and teachers, stress and burnout, and particular approaches like CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy), ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), and mindfulness-based approaches. I have extensive experience working with trauma, anxiety and mood disorders, and problems with substance use. Finally, I am interested in the application of psychology outside of therapy in individual coaching/consulting. Note: After a two-year hiatus, I will be re-opening my private practice in mid-January 2021.
