John has been in the Social Work field for over fifteen years, and began clinical work in New Orleans at the VA, working in Mental Health with Veterans. He has served as a Field Instructor for ETSU, UT, and other universities in the East Tennessee area. In addition to private practice in mental health (in-person & telehealth), including an in-school therapist for children, and an in-home therapist for children & families, John has worked as a Program Director/Therapist for a substance abuse facility. Most recently, John was an Assistant Clinical Professor/Program Coordinator in the Department of Social Work at East Tennessee State University at the Sevierville Campus. Prior to Social Work, John was a Combat Medical Specialist in the military, Paramedic (civilian/military), Federal Officer, Private Investigator, & Veterinary Technician, among others.
