Are you feeling overwhelmed or unsatisfied in some part of your life? Are you or your child struggling with depression, anxiety, or relationships? Has effective communication become more difficult with your child or spouse? Would you like for life to be different for yourself or a loved one, but are unsure how to move forward? I am John Nesbitt LICSW, a psychotherapist in Hanover, New Hampshire. I work with adults, adolescents and children ten and older in individual therapy and parent-guidance work. Contact me to learn more about how we might work together to achieve your goals and alleviate suffering. We will work together to develop a coherent narrative of what is working and not working in your life, and draw on my experience and training to cultivate the insights, tools, and resources to create positive change. I have a particular interest in adolescents struggling to thrive socially or academically; the impact of learning disabilities on social and emotional functioning; and parents struggling to effectively support their children. With over 10 years experience, my approach is informed by training in traditional Dynamic Psychotherapy, CBT, Attachment Theory, Executive Function Coaching and mindfulness techniques. I also have a deep interest in using findings in neuroscience to inform our understanding of various problems of living.
