I am not what you probably think of when you imagine a therapist. I won't have a tie or ask you to lay on the couch. We're going to get some work done, but it's not going to be as formal or awkward as you might expect from how shrinks are is portrayed on TV. (My small dog (a very friendly French bulldog) is with me most days; if this is a problem just let me know in advance and he'll take the day off.) I believe peace can be found in through finding meaning in our lives. As Nietzsche explained, "If we have our own why in life, we shall get along with almost any how." I consider the job of a therapist to be that of a trail guide: you tell me where you want to go and I help you get there. I am also comfortable integrating clients' religious practices and beliefs into the process, if desired. I hold a BS in Psychology from Georgia Gwinnett College and an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University; I am currently working towards a PhD in Counselor Supervision and Education at Walden University. I am a fully licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Georgia, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and am Prepare/Enrich certified. I've been a resident of Gwinnett County since 1996 and now live in Lawrenceville with my wife and dog, Rylo (who usually comes to work with me). When not working, I enjoy cooking, woodworking, and working on guitars.
