Introduction
My name is Jonathan Scheppegrell and I am the Nerd Therapist. Growing up I was often called Geek or Nerd because I loved Harry Potter, video games, comic books, and running around with a tree branch in my hand and a sheet wrapped around me like cloak pretending to cast spells to defend Hogwarts! In short, I was and still am a nerd with a vivid imagination! I strongly believe that everyone is a Nerd about something, and I strive to bring that into the therapeutic space. To me, being a nerd is to have passion, imagination, and connection to something that makes you feel authentically you. As a Therapist I have been trained to work with Children, Teens, and Early Adulthood (18yrs-22yrs); specifically my training includes specializations Trauma, Group Therapy, Play Therapy, TF-CBT, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Collaboratively with my clients, they work to become the author of their own story and write a narrative of connection, authenticity, imagination, and passion no matter what comes.
