I've spent most of my life in Lexington, NC, and moved to Winston Salem in 2019. My career in technology has provided me with opportunities to interact with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, and I've had the chance to explore many different incredible places. As a senior software engineer, my role involved addressing colleagues' work-related challenges. I would listen to their issues, collaborate on designing and implementing solutions, ultimately improving their work experiences. This process, akin to counseling in a personal context, inspired me to pursue counseling as the next step in developing my skill set. I believe that each of us has walked a unique path, and sometimes this path brings with it pain through loss, grief and trauma. I am particularly passionate about helping those needing help untangling the layers of life that seem to have them stuck. Together, we will work to heal the wounds of the past and build tools, resources and new ways of understanding how to thrive into the future. Recognizing the inherent difficulties in life's journey, my overarching goal is to provide support using a comprehensive array of evidence-based interventions. In my practice, I employ therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive-behavioral therapy, and narrative therapy. Through these proven approaches, he endeavors to guide individuals through the intricacies of their experiences, empowering them to overcome challenges and achieve meaningful healing. As a therapist specializing in trauma, grief, and loss, I see individuals and couples in private practice and volunteer in crisis settings with organizations such as the Red Cross. I am active in volunteer opportunities in my community and enjoy investing my time and energy into improving the lives of others.
