The core principles are (1) the assertion that each person possesses a healthy inner core, a deeper connection to Self, (2) that sharing one's inner qualities with others allows them to discover the benefits of this connection to Self. And (3) that while fulfillment and happiness are not guaranteed in life, meaning and a sense of purpose are available regardless of circumstances. IFS is a loving way of relating internally to your parts and externally to the people in your life. IFS is an experiential form of therapy that reharmonizes your inner system. IFS is about being curious and courageous. IFS provides you with a safe environment to expand your self-awareness and increase your self-compassion. As you develop your curiosity and explore your larger Self, you begin to gain insights into past burdens and trauma that have contributed to your pain and unresolved issues in your life. In the IFS model, you reconnect to your natural ability to heal.
