Joshua has trained as both a pharmacist and a counselor. He graduated from North Dakota State University in 2008 with a PharmD. He worked at a psychiatric facility for almost 10 years and became a Board Certified Psychiatric Pharmacist in 2014. He also obtained his Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Missouri State University in 2017 and began working as a counselor full time. In 2021, he completed training in Somatic Integration and Processing as well as EMDR from the Beyond Healing Institute in Springfield, MO. I believe we are all a product of our lived experiences so to understand how we feel and behave, we need to better understand what we have been through. I utilize a humanistic and science-based approach that focuses on what has happened to someone and how did they cope rather than a pathologic-focused approach of what is “broken” about them and how do we “fix” them. I focus on creating safety and trust as the therapy relationship needs to have both in order to process deeply personal and sometimes painful life experiences to work towards healing. I look forward to working with clients to help them better understand medications and themselves.
