I believe that it is important to incorporate a holistic approach when working with clients in order to comprehend what life truly looks like for the people that I work with. I consider each of my clients to be the experts on their own life and experiences. I am passionate about healing adults with histories of trauma and I utilize a mixture of trauma-informed therapy, Internal Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). After I completed my bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Spanish Studies in 2017 at Brigham Young University, I relocated to the Washington, DC metro area. While there, I developed a passion for advocacy and social change while listening to and working with others to solve problems. This passion propelled me to return to school and complete my Master of Social Work at George Mason University. During that time, I worked at a sexual assault center serving survivors of sexual violence and this experience expanded my understanding of trauma and provided me with the foundation for building a clinical practice focused on trauma-informed care. In my final year of my graduate program I worked within an inpatient hospital setting, where I provided individual and group therapy to adults with a variety of struggles, including anxiety, depression, chronic suicidality, grief, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and physical, emotional, and sexual trauma. After graduate school I returned to Utah in order to serve the community that I grew up in. I have been inspired by the bravery and resourcefulness that I have seen with each of my clients and I feel fortunate to be able to accompany my clients on their therapeutic journey. I find joy in my work and in working to expand my knowledge of therapies, modalities, and techniques in order to better serve my clients.
