Introduction

Whether you are in the midst of one of life's many challenges, or looking to better understand who you are, therapy is an opportunity to navigate uncharted waters, with support. As a clinician practicing in the discipline of social work, I believe that while you alone are making the choice to do this piece of therapeutic work, that you are bringing with you the voices of a larger culture that has shaped who you are. Throughout my career I have honed my skills as a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, teacher/trainer and behavioral health consultant learning first and foremost from my clients and their lived experiences. I bring this nearly 20 years of experience to my practice, in addition to extensive training in a myriad of modalities (Relational Cultural, Family Systems, Narrative, Gestalt, Trauma-Informed, Adoption Competent). Today I consider my style to be integrated in theoretical orientation and client centered. As an advocate for social justice, I have a strong commitment to exploring how identity, systems, and our families/communities/geographies inform how we engage with the work. Here are just some of the conversations that I facilitate with clients: Are you struggling with infertility? Considering adoption? Perhaps you and your partner have different perspectives on what it means to be a parent? Perhaps you are solo going it alone. Are you in your late teens/20's? It's the first time with some distance from your family of origin. Are you thinking about the larger world around you, and/or trying to find your place in it? Are you doing hard work, personally or professionally? Trying to find meaning in your day to day? Perhaps daily interactions with people and systems have you fatigued. For a number of reasons, I do not accept insurance. If your insurance provider reimburses for out of network services I can create detailed monthly invoice for you to submit to your insurance carrier. In addition, I hold a number of sliding-scale/reduced-fee spots in my schedule. If you have limited means at this time and would like to explore this option, please let me know. Therapy is no doubt an investment of your resources: time, energy and money. Keeping this in mind, I see our work together as finite. A few months, a season, a year, we'll complete a piece of work together and send you out into the world with your newfound skills to live out loud. You can always come back in for a refresher, or another piece of work, or you can use your resources for another growth endeavor of your choosing.
